Sync & profile

Usage sync sends your daily token counts from this Mac to your Codz account. They stay there after the providers’ own logs are rotated or deleted, and they feed your dashboard on codz.com and, if you publish one, your public profile.

Turn on usage sync

1. Open Settings ▸ Account and click Sign in. Your browser handles the sign-in and hands you back to Codz. See Codz account.
2. Turn on Sync usage under Usage sync.

The first time a Mac on Pro signs in, Sync usage turns on by itself unless you have set it before. Logging out turns it off, so turn it back on after you sign in again.

The first sync sends every day this Mac still has in its logs. After that, Codz keeps your account a few minutes behind while it is running. The Upload all history row says where things stand, such as “All available history is synced.” with the time of the last sync, and Sync now sends all of it again at once.

What is uploaded

One row per day, provider and model, with its token counts: input, output, cache reads, cache writes, reasoning and the billable total. With each upload go this Mac’s name and a device ID, which Settings ▸ Account ▸ Advanced shows under Device ID.

Sync sends nothing else: no prompts, no code, no chat titles and no file paths. Costs aren’t uploaded either, so codz.com shows tokens.

History that outlasts your logs

Claude Code, Codex and the other tools keep their logs on your Mac, and old logs get rotated or deleted. A day that has reached your account stays there after its log is gone, so your history can reach further back than the logs on your Mac.

The first sync can only send what is still on the Mac. Compacting transcripts on the Storage page keeps the records usage is read from, so it doesn’t shorten what can be synced.

The Usage and Models pages in the app read this Mac’s logs. Your synced history is what codz.com shows.

Your dashboard on codz.com

Sign in at codz.com and open your dashboard to see what has synced. Overview shows a year of activity with your streaks, and Usage shows any window by day, provider and model, with Export CSV. Dashboard walks through both.

If you belong to a team, Settings ▸ Account ▸ Sync usage to chooses the organization your new syncs go to. Days already stored stay with the organization that received them. See Teams & organizations.

Your public profile

A public profile is a page at codz.com/<username> showing your synced activity to anyone with the link. It is off until you turn it on.

1. Open your dashboard’s Settings. Edit profile in Settings ▸ Account opens it too.
2. Under Profile, choose a Username: lowercase letters, numbers and underscores, 3 to 32 characters. Add a Display name if you like.
3. Turn on Public profile.
4. Click Save. The row then links to your profile.

The profile shows your display name and username, your all-time tokens, how many models you have used and since when, your tokens over the last 52 weeks, your peak day, your current and longest streaks, a chart of the last 7, 30 or 90 days by provider, your top platforms, and a year of activity as a calendar. It shows tokens only: no costs, projects or chats.

codz.com/u/<username> redirects to the same page. On the Mac, the Profile page (⌘8) shows whether your profile is public and its address.

To take it down, turn off Public profile and click Save. If your Pro plan ends, the profile is unpublished for you.

Questions

“Last sync failed” appears under Usage sync. The message says why:

• “Sign in to Codz first.” or “Your Codz session was rejected. Sign in again.”: sign in again from Settings ▸ Account.
• “Cursor account usage is temporarily unavailable. Keep Cursor signed in, then sync again.”: keep the Cursor app signed in, then click Sync now.
• A message that a Pro subscription is required: the account this Mac is signed in to isn’t on Pro. Check your plan on Billing & Invoices.

I use Codz on more than one Mac. Your account keeps one row for each day, provider and model, and each sync replaces the row it sends. When two Macs used the same model on the same day, the figures on codz.com are those of the Mac that synced last; they aren’t added together.

My dashboard is empty. Check that Sync usage is on for a Mac signed in to the same account, and give it a few minutes, or click Sync now.

My profile page isn’t found. It is public only with a username set and Publish a public profile checked, on an account with Pro.

Saving my profile fails. “Username already taken” and “That username is reserved” mean choosing another name. “Codz Pro is required to publish a profile or share global stats.” means the account isn’t on Pro.
